Ok look.
Some of you know that I gave up some shit for lent like pork, red meat and porn. Some of you also know I’m not even Catholic. I do this sort of stuff just to challenge myself. You know, like a straight edge kid who thinks you give a shit if he forgoes fun in favor of arrogance about shit you like.
So lacking bacon, steaks or certain websites requiring no credit card but allowing full screen functionality, I am left with nothing but my thoughts and whatever 80’s cartoons or episodes of Bones I haven’t seen yet.
My thoughts are these:
I have been without porn for 3 days and some of shitheads can’t process the clear lessons learned in one battle for equality in order to get down with someone else’s battle for equality.
What the fuck is wrong with you? Yes, black people, our ancestors were slaves. Yes, it took some considerable amount of years for one black person to equal one human being in this country. Yes, it took time for us to be able to own land, vote, die for our country willingly or marry white women.
This is not a newsflash but because folks who came before us fought for these things, we can now do them. AT WILL!
My problem is hearing about some of my brothers and sisters who seem to think that equality and social-political satisfaction is a foot race. Just because we’re some times still feeling the burn, we can’t get behind anyone else who may also be wanting to be recognized as HUMAN, like we are.
This is BULLSHIT.
What difference does it make to you if some combination of GLBTQ sumbitch wants to buy into the same damn system we’ve learned to piss on for the last several decades. Brothers and Sisters we have become masters of running game on each other in the hear ands now. We run that shit so much that there are whole categories at the Grammys not dedicated to the Industry of how we’ve forgotten what those before us fought for while we celebrate the fine art of fucking each other over. Yeah I said it.
Who the fuck are you to ignore the battles your grandparents fought to send your ass to college* so that you could rise above bigotry and bullshit just to spend you time being manipulated daily by talking heads without your best interest at heart or some other ignorant mother fuckers transferring their hate to you?
I don’t know what you studied in college but if I had a time machine, I’d go back and tell 12 year old me to study harder because one day I could grow up and become an combo general contractor/wedding planner/divorce lawyer.
I could understand if Congress passed a law saying for every pair of dudes that gets hitched to each other, a stable black married couple of equal age and ambition has to have their marriage dissolved. That would really give the R&B world some shit to sing about. Then married straight couples would have something to worry about.
Maybe if there was some law that said, for ever gay married couple that adopted a child who turned out to be straight, there would have to be an equal number of divorced straight couples with kids in therapy and to make it even, maybe sometimes that kid could be gay too…wait…
My point here, you small minded pricks is that they call it EQUALITY for a reason.
You don’t get to sit anywhere you want on the El, even if it’s not next to someone, just because some time passed and white folks wised up.
You don’t get to buy that house in the suburb or gentrifying area of your choice because that land had to go somewhere eventually.
You don’t get to play ball for fuck tons of money even if you suck just because that how the game works.
You DO NOT get to sit on your ass talking about what’s right and moral with impunity all damn day just because it’s 2011 and we were bound to get here someday.
You get to do all of this shit because SOMEONE did the heavy lifting FOR YOU and I hope to whatever Spirit floats wherever, that you heavy lifting ancestor wasn’t talking out of the other side of their ass when they were imparting lessons to you.
People we need to vote for equality almost entirely based on the fucking definition of the word. Don’t you get it? It’s not just about you not wanting to see dudes make out. It’s about recognizing the rights that we as humans already fucking have. We have the right to express love of our fellow humans and have that shit recognized but the fucking State when the State takes money for doing so.
We have the human right to express our devotion to businesses designed to support our love of other human beings. EVERY ADULT has this right.
If the GLBT community would require an official strait married black man to perform a “Welcome to the Marriage Racket” blowjob, drawn at random, then maybe I could see a little bit of consternation about Marriage Equality form those who have fought for equality.
Personally I have NEVER walked into one of my Black brethren’s homes and seen their marriage license proudly displayed on the wall next to their degree or pictures of their families at the cookouts, so I am going to have to call bullshit on people voting to protect marriage from gays as if gays are like giants living in the fucking hills.
Equality for ALL and sooner rather than later you bigoted fuck. I have wedding to attend and I’m a sexy bitch in a suit.
*In my mind, our elders fought for the right to have smarter, more successful offspring than themselves. College tends to help. I assume anyone reading this went…unless you didn’t, in which case I highly recommend that shit.
